Delhi and its adjacent National Capital Region (NCR) on Friday morning woke up to a dense layer of fog blanketing the region and significantly reducing visibility as extreme cold wave conditions persist. peso 888

Owing to the existing weather conditions, Noida's Gautam Buddh Nagar administration on Thursday ordered the suspension of classes till 8 in all schools of the district until further orders.

According to PTI, the order issued by the District Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar applies to schools across board affiliations.

"In compliance with the instructions given by the District Magistrate, Gautam Buddh Nagar, in view of the dense fog and extreme cold, there will be a holiday in all the schools (classes from nursery to 8) recognized by all the boards (CBSE / ICSE / IB, UP Board and others) operating in the district with immediate effect till further orders. The said order should be strictly followed," the order stated, as per PTI.

'Cold Day' persists across NCR

For the fifth consecutive day, the mercury in NCR dropped below 10 degrees Celsius, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD). A maximum of 17 degrees Celsius was recorded in the district, with the IMD predicting foggy and misty condition.

However, the Met Deapartment has predicted temperature of 8 degrees Celsius on Friday.

On the other hand, China have qualified for their maiden Asian Champions Trophy final. Their journey to the summit clash has been a rollercoaster ride. In view of the current situation, IMD has issued an orange warning for Delhi, anticipating "dense to very dense fog" and has also predicted a partly cloudy sky on Friday.

Low visibility across NCR, flight ops hit

The dense fog across the national capital region on Friday led to very low visibility. As per an India Today report, Delhi Airport, general visibility at Delhi airport was 50 metres and runway visibility was reduced to zero at 7 am.

The airport authorities warned that the situation could impact flight operations.

"While landings and take-offs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant (low-visibility landing feature) may get affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight informationpeso 888," an advisory on Friday morning said.
